Richard Barrett Talbot Kelly, RI, British 1896-1971- An Eagle on a branch; watercolour on paper, signed with monogram (lower left), 72 x 50.5 cm. ARR. Provenance: Private Collection, UK (by descent). Note: The son of the artist Robert George Talbot Kelly (1822-1910), Richard Barrett was primarily a watercolour painter of birds. He was educated at Rugby School, where he later served as Director of Art, and was elected to the Royal Institute in 1925. His published works include 'The Way of Birds' (1937) and 'Bird Life and the Painter' (1955).
