Henry Hadfield Cubley, British 1858-1934- An expansive beach, with mountains beyond; oil on card, signed 'H. Hadfield Cubley' (lower left), 19.1 x 29.3 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: Hadfield Cubley studied with his uncle, the painter William Cubley (1816-1896), who bore a significant influence on his nephew's artistic approach. Hadfield Cubley focused largely on the depiction of the British landscape, particularly the rugged countryside of Scotland and Wales, and exhibited his works at the Royal Academy.
