Ethelbert White (British, 1891-1972) A group of five paintings Boats in a harbour signed 'Ethelbert White' l.r. and numbered 229, with 'E. White Estate' stamp verso, watercolour over pencil together with four paintings of mountain, lake and riverside scenes, one numbered 254 with 'E. White Estate' stamp verso, watercolour on paper and board (28 x 39cm; framed 41 x 51cm and 39 x 56cm and smaller; unframed) (5) Provenance: Provenance: Bonhams, London, 'Modern Pictures', 26 September 2006, lot 211. Condition Report: Boats in a harbour: Heavy foxing. Watercolour somewhat faded. Not viewed out of glazed frame. Unframed works: Slight fading, however in opinion all four works present well overall. A little time staining and light surface dirt. Corners a little dog-eared and bent with small pinholes. Two executed on paper and two executed on board.
