John Mason Pentagonal Vessel 1995 / refired 2006 glazed stoneware 9.25 h x 18 w x 18 d in (23 x 46 x 46 cm) As was common with Mason's practice, he revisited his work in the studio over time, sometimes altering compositional or formal aspects of the surfaces, as was the case with this Pentagonal Vessel. Here, Mason added a layer of complexity by segmenting the coloration of the glaze with intersecting lines across the angled planes of the vessel.
