Lot description
The signature based on the back photo is under the matte on the bottom left. George Howell Gay was well known for his watercolor landscapes and seascapes, mostly along the shores of New England. Pupil of Paul Brown an Henry Elkins, Chicago. George Howell Gay exhibited at the National Academy of Design in 1890; Boston Art Club, 1890 - 1900; and Boston Art Club, 1897.
