Stonier (the first translation in English of this French classic known through the film, 'Poil de Carotte' and shown in England before the war), published by The Grey Walls Press Ltd, London, First Edition, 1946, Hardcover, b/w and colour illustrations throughout by Fred Uhlman (see lot...) including the dust jacket, original publisher's blue cloth-boards with title in gilt lettering to spine, 147 pp. Jules Renard (1864-1910) wrote Poil de Carottes in 1894.
