Fixation No. 33 signed and dated 1977 (lower left) acrylic, oil on canvas 33” x 36” (84 cm x 91 cm) PROVENANCE: Cultural Center of the Philippines Museum Augusto Albor’s works delve deep into the concept of eternal and unimaginable time. An artist who thrives in the minimalist realm, his works may seem almost empty, devoid of any distinguishable objects. And yet, that is not the case – in fact, it is this very emptiness with which Albor’s distinct emotional impact thrives. In Pixation No. 33, Albor’s light is fixated on the center of the canvas, drawing the eye. His abstractions, which revolve around silence and solemnity, exemplify the profound understanding and reverence for that which is bigger than us. (Hannah Valiente)
