Lawrence Charles Weiner 1942-2021 New Order. 1983. Offset lithograph poster. Factory Records was founded in the UK in 1978, and went on to secure a singular place in the post-punk, new wave music landscape, producing such bands as Joy Division and New Order. They opened a branch in New York (OFNY), headed by Michael Shamberg, in 1980.
