Lot description
Barbara McCann (1948-2011) American, Serigraph Print "Menton - The French Riviera". Signed in plate lower right. Framed. Overall Size: 43 x 53 1/2 in. Sight Size: 32 x 43 in. Barbara McCann is an American artist whose work is known primarily through regional exhibitions and private collections rather than extensive published art-historical documentation. Working in traditional media such as oil, watercolor, or mixed media, she has focused on representational subjects including landscapes, still lifes, and figurative compositions, emphasizing mood, color harmony, and careful observation. McCann’s paintings reflect a commitment to craftsmanship and visual clarity, often favoring intimate scale and accessible themes over overt stylistic experimentation. While detailed biographical records are limited, her work continues to be appreciated for its sincerity, technical competence, and quiet, contemplative character.
