John Rigby has become one of the most iconic names when it comes to big game safari rifles and for good reason. These rifles are hand made with the finest materials including a minimum of a Grade 7 fitted Turkish walnut stock. With a wait time of 3 years plus, the purchase of one of these rifles is a once-in-a-lifetime purchase for collectors and connoisseurs. This rifle features the Rigby 1/4 rib and front sight block, gold inlay John Rigby & Co, caliber, and sight yardage on the top of the barrel rib, and is marked with the name Paso Robles, CA. Also features scroll engraving across the receiver with the image of a Cape Buffalo engraved and stippled on the underside, and John Rigby & Co. gold inlayed on either side of the receiver. The receiver has a faint color case hardening mixed with the polished stainless. The engraving continues into every piece of the hardware including the forend release lever, trim, the trigger guard, the tang, the pistol grip butt cap, and the release lever. On the underside of the trigger guard is gold inlayed initials presumably of the original owner. Lastly on the pistol grip butt cap is the John Rigby double R logo gold inlayed with a small compartment underneath.Ê The consigner states that this rifle had been purchased by an individual that had sadly passed away before he was ever able to receive this rifle. The Rifle appears to be in an unfired condition with some small spots of tarnishing on the front of the breech face, a few other very small spots, and some marked on the blued barrels from handling. Comes in the original hard metal case with a blue velvet lined interior and protective sock. Overall this rifle could be the pinnacle of your big game room with tons of your own experiences waiting to happen on the safari.
