FRANK LIEFOOGHE (1945 - ) - "Untitled" - litho - gesigneerd in potlood - gedateerd 1971 - genummerd 20/50 - 45 x 41 cm FRANK LIEFOOGHE (1945 - ) - ‘Untitled’ - lithograph - signed in pencil - dated 1971 - numbered 20/50 - 45 x 41 cm AN EXTRAORDINARY ARTIST He studied at the Saint-Luc Institute in Ghent and at the Ghent Academy. After graduating from the Academy, he worked with Italian artists Valerio Adami and Lucio Fontana. Liefooghe is not only a draughtsman and painter; since the 1960s, he has been a free and committed artist, concerned with global issues: peace, ecology and the future of our civilisation. He has chosen not to exhibit his art in the ‘closed’ setting of galleries. The world quickly became his preferred terrain: in fifty years, he has travelled to around a hundred countries, carrying out a wide variety of artistic projects in more than fifty of them. He has created installations and monuments for peace, both in Ghent and around the globe.
