An original print; matte finish, depicting a striking image of the star gazing upwards, affixed to a mat board which is signed in black fountain pen ink in the lower left corner "Angus McBean," further signed also in black fountain pen in the lower right corner "With my love / to George / Vivien / 1949"; McBean was the most important surrealist photographer in England who became well-known for his elegant portraits of the great stars of stage and screen, such as this one of Leigh which she then gifted to her colleague and close friend, Academy Award-winning director, George Cukor.
