Bio: Robert McCauley (born 1946) is an American contemporary artist known for his narrative paintings that combine realism with symbolism to explore themes of nature, history, and cultural identity. Originally from Mount Vernon, Washington, McCauley often depicts wildlife and natural environments juxtaposed with human artifacts, creating visual commentaries on environmental change and the intersection between civilization and wilderness. His work is characterized by precise technique, subdued color palettes, and thought-provoking imagery that bridges personal mythology with ecological reflection. McCauley’s art aligns with the broader movements of environmental and narrative realism in late 20th- and early 21st-century American painting.
