July Issue, 1940 Dr. Otto Naumann. Frans Van Mieris the Elder, Dornspijk 1981, 2 Vols., Vol. 2, pp. 142-143, no. C14. Naumann suggests the work is in Willem Van Mieris' hand, and also recommends a title of Rebecca Receiving presents from Abraham's Servant. Previously, the work had been attributed to Frans Van Mieris. In addition, he elaborates to compare another W. Van Mieris, previously titled, La Paix, of the "same subject from a different angle", previously in the Collection of L. Francois-Poncet, Geneva, and exhibited there in 1974.
