Rodney Gladwell, British 1928-1979 - Two works including 'Rome', 1968; oil on canvas, signed, titled and dated on the reverse 'Gladwell Rome 68', 65.5 x 86.5 cm: together with another oil on canvas by the same artist, signed lower right 'Rodney 63', 60.5 x 91 cm (2) (ARR) Provenance: Bonhams, London, Modern Pictures and Sculptures, 16th April 2002, lot 239; Private Collection, UK Note: Gladwell's work was collected by legendary dealer Lucy Wertheim and is now in the collections of Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne and the Arts Council Collection. During his lifetime he exhibited with O’Hana Gallery and Piccadilly Gallery in London and had a retrospective at Sussex University from 1962–3.
