Marcel François Leprin, French 1891-1933 - Moulin de la Galette, Montmartre; oil on panel, signed lower left 'Leprin', 26.5 x 35 cm (ARR) Provenance: with Arthur Tooth & Sons, London (according to the label attached to the reverse); Private Collection Note: Leprin's Montmartre scenes are reminiscent of the work of his contemporary Maurice Utrillo. A large number of his works are now in public collections in France, including in the Pompidou Collection. The artist exhibited during his lifetime with Arthur Tooth & Sons in April 1927.
