Lot description
This exceptional ''saloon'' style advertising sign measures 55 3/4''x 43 1/4'' overall with a viewing area of 44 3/4''x30 1/4'' and is signed in the lower right corner by the artist. The scene is based at camp showing a bountiful hunt with a bottle of Paul Jones & Co ''Four Roses'' whiskey surrounded by pelts, cards, and shotshells. The print is framed with a shadowbox style outer frame mounted to a lovely molded decorative inner frame and both rate near excellent showing some minor flaking and storage wear. The print has vivid colors and there are some scattered speckles of oxidation starting to bleed through that do not detract from its beauty but more so authenticates its originality. This is a very fine early advertising print, likely pre-Prohibition, which are seldom encountered for public sale. A great opportunity to add this fine example to your collection.
