MARCOS GRIGORIAN (Kropotkin 1925 - Erevan 2007) Male portrait First half of 1950 Oil on canvas 72 x 53 cm Signed lower right; The subject, a male portrait of intense psychological introspection, reveals a synthesis between Western figurative tradition and the material and chromatic sensibility that would become a distinctive feature of Grigorian's art. Provenance: Private collection, Rome – formerly owned by an Italian-American painter, a personal friend of the artist during his stay in Rome.
