Gerhard Wendland 1910 Hanover - 1986 Nuremberg - Abstraction - (1958) Oil/canvas on hardboard. 27 x 40.3 cm, 30 x 43.5 cm (dimensions with frame). Signed and dated lower right: Wendland (19)58. Frame. The abstract painter and graphic artist was trained at the Art Academy in Hanover. In 1959 he participated in documenta II in Kassel. From 1960 he lectured at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg and was honored by the city in 1981 with a large retrospective. His works are strongly influenced by Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky.
