Jürgen Weber 1928 Münster - 2007 at Pou d'es Lleo on Ibiza -"Sleeper"- Bronze. Brown patina. 10.5 x 27 x 11 cm. Illegibly dated and monogrammed on the plinth: W. (19)75. Good. - Lit.: Jürgen Weber, The Ship of Fools - Art without a Compass. Plate No. 37. After an apprenticeship as a bronze caster, Weber began studying medicine. He studied art history in Tübingen and sculpture at the Stuttgart Art Academy. From 1961-1996, Weber taught in Braunschweig. His works include the portal of St. Jacobi Church in Hamburg, the Wrestler Fountain in Braunschweig, and the Fountain with History Column in Koblenz.
