Lot description
One of the two sheets is numbered in the lower right corner: N°10. Barbara Regina Dietzsch specialised in the precise depiction of flowers and insects, which are depicted down to their most detailed features. The painter, who came from a family of artists in Nuremberg, favoured dark backgrounds, black or dark brown, for her motifs. This enhanced the colours, the three-dimensionality and the jewel-like appearance of the compositions. Dietzsch's works were sought-after internationally and were exported as far afield as the Netherlands and England.
