EDOUARD VALLET (Geneva 1876–1929 Cressy) Le marché IV. 1903. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated lower left: ED. VAllET 03. Inscribed verso on the stretcher: Marché IV. 40 × 29 cm. Provenance: - Galerie Beaux-Arts, Zurich, 1942 (verso with label). - Private collection, Switzerland (probably acquired at the above). - Thence by descent. Exhibited: Zurich 1942, Sonder-Ausstellung Edouard Vallet, Galerie Beaux Arts, 9 June–3 July 1942, no. 12, ls "Le marché, étude. 1903." (verso with label).
