Lot description

John Christoforou (British, 1921-2014). Brush and black ink on paper painting titled "Mother & Child," 1956. Provenance: From the estate of Vivian R. Fusillo. Vivian Fusillo (1927-2024) was a collector of rare discernment whose adventurous eye spanned post-war canvases to contemporary light-based works. A muse to figures like Richard Avedon and Elizabeth Taylor, she brought the same grace and vitality to her art collecting as to her life. After settling in Minnesota, Vivian became a beloved professor at Winona State University, where she directed over 100 plays and inspired generations of students - the main stage now bears her name in tribute. Revere Auctions is honored to present selections from the Fusillo Collection, offering rare access to works that reflect her bold taste, emotional intuition, and lasting legacy.
