BIOGRAPHY: Alberto Carosi was an Italian painter and watercolourist. Alberto Carosi attended the Istituto di Belle Arti in Rome, where he studied at the Scuola Libera del Nudo. At the Raffaele Sanzio Institute, he studied under Augusto Bompiani and was also a student of Publio de Tommasi. He followed in the footsteps and suggestions of his older brother Giuseppe . He exhibited for the first time in Rome, at the Societa Amatori e Cultori. Every year, he organized an exhibition of his most recent works in his studio: a sign of his reserved and reserved nature. He was part of the "XXV della Campagna Romana" group, a group of artists who sought to renew painting by depicting the places and inhabitants of the Roman countryside from real life .Nicknamed Cucciolo, Alberto Carosi was particularly fond of plein air painting , always remaining faithful to the influences of his early youth. He painted rural scenes and glimpses of villages, in their natural, everyday light, in the sun and rain, in the morning and towards evening. Using the same brown tones, he reproduced both the shepherd's robe and the earth under his feet. Alberto Carosi was fascinated by a somewhat dreamlike rural world. His versatility allowed him to treat both figures and landscapes equally well, almost capturing the character of his subjects, delineating their typical characteristics or attitudes very well, as in the oil on panel "The Teetotaler," which highlights a refined art with introspective nuances. He painted Venice, shrouded in a mysterious and evanescent light. He was a member of the Pontifical Academy of Virtuosi al Pantheon. In recent years, his works have enjoyed considerable critical acclaim and his value is steadily rising. Many of the painter's works are preserved at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta, Malta.
