BIOGRAPHY: When Jim Ceravolo moved to The Hamptons on Long Island to set up his new home and studio, he became friends with some of the famous artists that live and create there, including Roy Lichtenstein, Larry Rivers and Chuck Close. His Pop portrait of Roy Lichtenstein, probably the last portrait created of Lichtenstein during his lifetime was painted by Ceravolo in his Southampton studio located just a few miles from Lichtenstein's home and studio. That portrait combines Ceravolo's oil on canvas portrait of Roy with primary colors and raw aluminum panels (a combination of painting and sculpture in the same work.)
