Paul Vogler (French, 18531904) Village Scene Oil on Canvas A lyrical oil painting on canvas by French Impressionist Paul Vogler, depicting a tranquil village rendered in soft, dappled light. The artists deft brushwork and subtle tonal variations capture the atmospheric serenity of rural France, reflecting the influence of his contemporaries in the Impressionist circle. Signed Paul Vogler lower left. Dimensions: Canvas: approx. 20 1/2 x 24 1/2 in. Framed: approx. 28 3/4 x 32 3/4 in. Condition: It seems to of been repaired at one time, overall in good condition. Artist Bio Paul Vogler (18531904) was a French landscape painter closely associated with the Impressionist movement. A student of Alfred Sisley, Vogler developed a delicate, luminous technique that emphasized natural light and atmospheric effects. His landscapesoften depicting scenes along the Seine and in the Île-de-France regionembody the poetic sensibility of late 19th-century plein-air painting. Though his career was brief, Voglers works remain admired for their refined palette and contemplative mood, earning him posthumous recognition among collectors of Impressionist art.
