CHESTER MICHALIK (MA, 1935 - ) "New York", 1975, gelatin silver photograph, obtuse view of glass-front skyscraper, reflecting clouds, pencil signed, titled and dated. In black and silver frame, silver mat, under glass. Professor of Art at Smith College since 1978, Chester Michalik received a B.S. from the Massachusetts College of Art, and an M.F.A. from Boston University. He taught at the Rhode Island School of Design from 1964 to 1978. Starting in 1978, Michalik taught at Smith College, where he was Professor Emeritus. He received numerous grants for travel and teaching in Japan.
