Charles Loupot The Austin Tractor vintage poster c. 1928 30 h x 24.25 w in (76 x 62 cm) "Farming equipment ... is not an inherently sexy item in the advertising world. But in Loupot's capable hands this tractor promotion turns from laborious to expressive. One gets the sense from the design that the diminutive Austin tractor ... is responsible for tilling the vast expanse set before it. It is a clever concept, one that relies on angles and deep, vibrating colors rather than on draftsmanship" (Crouse/Deco, p. 56). This is the only known copy of the English-language version of this poster, printed with a real estate advertisement on the verso. Provenance: Private Collection | Poster Auctions International, New York, Rare Posters, 15 May 2016, Lot 493 | Private Collection Literature: Loupot, 31; Crouse/Deco, p. 56; Loupot/Zagrodzki, 74; PAI-LXVII, 402 (all var but PAI) This work will ship from Chicago, Illinois.
