The atmospheric composition depicts a rustic thatched cottage with figures braving the elements, sheep being driven along a rain-soaked path, and animals gathered near the homestead. The dramatic sky and reflective surface capture the mood of rural life under a stormy January sky. Signed in graphite by the artist lower right, David Law. Printed and published in Liverpool, with the plate showing fine detail and tonal depth. Presented on its original mount, showing characteristic age-toning and spotting, which enhances its antique authenticity.
