Erbsünde, Bruno Wollbrück Verlag, Weimar, 1919. Germany, 1919. Portfolio containing sixteen original etchings, each signed in pencil by the artist, published in a limited edition of 360 copies as a private edition by Bruno Wollbrück Verlag, Weimar. The series presents an explicitly erotic reinterpretation of the creation story, with Eve—driven by desire—engaging in sexual acts with various animals. Its provocative imagery led to legal prosecution at the time, though the artist was eventually acquitted. The production was carried out in collaboration with Otto Dorfner’s workshop in Weimar, with meticulous execution in half-parchment binding and handmade batik Japan paper. The portfolio combines refined etching technique with expressive visual language and taboo-challenging narrative, making it a rare example of early Weimar-period expressionist printmaking.
