Lot description
A framed black & white etching on paper titled "Roma 1926," signed within the etching and in pencil by listed artist, Paul Geissler (German, b. 1881 - d. 1965). This limited work by the renowned etcher is numbered #75 / 200, and captures a scene of Roman ruins against the background of contemporary architecture. This contrast of the Old World with the buildings of the artist's time was a theme that was often featured in his art. Measures: Frame: 14-7/8" x 13-7/8" / Site: 9-3/4" x 8-1/2".
