Lot description
An original oil painting on canvas by Alaskan artist Theodore Roosevelt "T.R." Lambert (1905-1960), depicting a snow-covered mountain ridge beneath a vast sky alive with billowing cumulus clouds. The mountain slopes are articulated in bold planes of light and shadow, with the sun striking the ridgeline in a golden glow while the recesses fall into cool blues and lavenders, creating a vivid sense of depth and atmosphere. Above, the sky dominates two-thirds of the canvas, filled with luminous white and cream-colored clouds tinged with soft gray and set against a pale blue expanse. Signed lower right by the artist and presented in the original period frame with a gilt finish and stylized corner folds. Measures approximately 11" x 15" overall with a sight view of 9" x 13".
