Theodor Kärner (1884-1966) Reclining cheetah, Porzellanmanufaktur Nymphenburg (1911) Finely modelled animal sculpture of a reclining cheetah with raised head, depicting the muscular posture in characteristically tense repose. The porcelain is executed with detailed underglaze painting and shows a naturalistic fur pattern with typical spotting in warm shades of yellow, brown and black. Expressive eyes and the sculpted head emphasise the realistic effect of the design. Model by Theodor Kärner from 1911 for the Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory. Green Nymphenburg mark on the underside, as well as press mark, mould number 326. Dimensions: approx. 28 × 14 cm, height: approx. 13 cm. Very good condition, no damage or restorations. Das Porzellan ist mit detailreicher Unterglasurbemalung ausgeführt und zeigt ein naturalistisches Fellmuster mit typischer Fleckung in warmen Gelb-, Braun- und Schwarztönen.
