April Gornik (Born 1953) "Forest Light" Lithograph on Paper. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, April Gornik received her BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and is recognized as one of the leading figures in contemporary American landscape painting. She has exhibited at the Whitney Biennial and the Venice Biennale, and her work is held in major museum collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. In 2021, she co-founded The Church, an artist residency and exhibition space in Sag Harbor, NY, where she currently lives and works.
