David Jagger, British 1891–1958 - Portrait of Mrs Charles Sargeant Jagger, c.1920; oil on canvas, signed lower right 'Jagger' and with artist's indistinctly inscribed label attached to the reverse, 56 x 46.3 cm (ARR) Provenance: the Sitter's daughter; with Eyre & Greig Ltd., London; Private Collection, purchased from the above on the 28th September 2000 (according to a copy the original invoice) Note: the sitter was the wife of the artist's brother, the sculptor Charles Sargeant Jagger (1885-1934), famous for his War memorials at Hyde Park Corner.
