Lot description

Al Capone Original Photograph of Fingerprint Card. This TYPE I Original Photograph measures 7.625 x 8 inches. In May 1930, Al Capone was arrested in Miami, Florida. On May 8, 1930, he was arrested along with his entourage while en route to the Olympia Theater. The arrest was made on the orders of local officials, including the Mayor, City Manager, and Director of Public Safety, as part of an effort to curb his influence in the city. While he was held for investigation, he was eventually released after a habeas corpus writ countered the city's attempt to detain him. This was one of several arrests Capone faced in Miami during that period. Excellent condition. Provenance: Estate of Gordon Pouliot (1927-2004). Mr. Pouliot was a Motorcycle Police and Patrol Officer in Southern Florida in the 1950's-1970's. Mr. Pouliot saved some of these items from disposal while working in law enforcement and collected others in his travels. Guaranteed an original Type I photograph of the fingerprint card of Al Capone and NOT a reprint, photocopy or facsimile, photo is a Type I as stated in LOA from PSA/DNA. The absence of a condition report does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections, or the conditions of aging. Photos may also act as a condition report. Please review all photos closely prior to bidding and ask further questions if so desired.
