Condition: Shows light use . Please see pics for details. Item Description Description Offered for auction is a US first pressing of Harry Nilsson's brilliant and bizarre 1972 album, Son of Schmilsson. The much-anticipated follow-up to his commercial breakthrough, this record finds Nilsson playfully deconstructing his newfound stardom. This copy comes in its original gatefold jacket with the custom die-cut inner sleeve. The Schmilsson Saga Continues After the massive, Grammy-winning success of Nilsson Schmilsson, RCA Records expected another blockbuster. Instead, Harry Nilsson delivered a wonderfully eclectic and often hilariously uncommercial masterpiece. Son of Schmilsson is a wild ride through musical styles, veering from the raucous opener "Take 54" to the beautiful ballad "Remember (Christmas)," the calypso-tinged "The Lottery Song," and the famously profane sing-along "You're Breakin' My Heart." The album features an all-star cast of Nilsson's friends, including George Harrison, Ringo Starr (credited as "Richie Snare"), Peter Frampton, and legendary session pianist Nicky Hopkins. It's a snapshot of a singular artist at his most creative, defiant, and fun.
