Alexandre Clarys (Belgian, 1857-1912), antique oil on canvas equestrian portrait of the horse St Rupert. The horse stands in profile within a stable interior, set against a muted ochre background with straw bedding and riding gear placed on the ground to the right. A brass nameplate on the frame bears the horses name. Signed lower right A Clarys. Presented in a wide wood frame. Work Size: 23 x 32 in. Dimensions: 34 X 43 X 2.5 in. Condition: Good overall antique condition with surface wear and craquelure consistent with age. The frame exhibits normal storage wear along the edges and corners.
