Lot description
Jean d'Ylen Cigarettes Matossian 18.375 h x 11.875 w in (47 x 30 cm) Perhaps referencing Cappiello's design for the same brand of cigarettes (see PAI-LXXXV, 220), d'Ylen swaps out Cappiello's male smoker for a female seductress donning the same red and yellow hues. If the posters were placed side-by-side, the two could flirtatiously puff their smoke into the next lithographic frame. Imp. Vercasson, Paris Literature: d'Ylen, p. 35 This work will ship from Chicago, Illinois.
