FORREST KING MOSES (AMERICAN, 1893-1974) FOLK ART PAINTING OF THE WILLOW SPOUT NEAR STAUNTON, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA, oil on board, depicting a country scene with several figures in the foreground, one drives a two-horse wagon, the other brings his horse to spout and trough beneath a tree which is Willow Spout, on Route 11 near Fort Defiance, Augusta Co., VA (also near the Moses family farm). Signed lower right "Forrest K. Moses." A number of notes and informational paperwork is attached verso, including the 1987 Green Valley Auction receipt. Housed in a later frame. Circa 1965. 11 3/4" x 15 3/4" sight, 13" x 17" OA.
