Lot description
"Smart Light" Oil on panel. Signed lower right The work is professionally framed in an elegant frame with gold accents An intriguing and humorous work by contemporary artist Daniel Douglas, in which classical painting techniques are combined with a modern wink. The naked male figure, seen from the back and illuminated by the blue light of a smartphone, evokes associations with classical nudes, but with a contemporary twist. The warm, dark background and the use of gold leaf around the niche-shaped representation give the work a sacred, almost iconographic atmosphere.
