Lot description
An Impressionistic oil on board gem of a painting, entitled "Frosty Morning", depicting a lone clump white birch tree in the foreground, snow covered forest behind. The sun provides a small respite from the cold, as it rests over the horizon. Titled lower left and signed lower right by Alaska artist Jeanne Laurence (1887-1980). Wife of beloved Alaska artist Sydney Laurence (1865-1940), Jeanne has become a collectible Alaska artist in her own right, over the years. Matted and housed in a simple frame, it measures approximately 12.5" x 10" overall, with a sight view of 6" x 3.5".
