Charlie Lucas (American/Alabama, b. 1951) "Reaching Out," oil painting on board, signed. Unframed. Size: 8'' x 21'', 20 x 53 cm (wood board). Incorporating foraged, found and discarded objects- quilts, metal implementations, furniture - Charlie Lucas honors a Black experience (rooted in Alabama history). His art tells stories from his grandmother's time to the present day. Lucas has been an artist in residence at Yale University . His work is in many permanent collections, most significantly large metal outdoor sculptures at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. Provenance: current owner acquired directly from artist.
