Sidney Goodman (1936-2013) - 'Boy in Strong Light'. Oil on canvas. Artist signed and dated in LL corner. In original frame. Retains ACA Galleries paper label (New York). American, 1999. Sidney Goodman was an American figurative painter and draftsman from Philadelphia, PA who explored the human form. Goodman received public notice in the early 1960s for his oil paintings, leading to his inclusion in the 1973 Whitney Biennial. In 1996, the Philadelphia Museum of Art presented a retrospective show of Goodman's paintings and drawings Frame: H 21-3/4 in. W 15-3/4 in. Canvas: H 20 in. W 14 in. Condition: Few small spots of black paint on the boy's lower neck/upper chest area. No damage to the canvas or frame.
