Brian Rice, British b.1936 - Radials Series, 1967; gouache on paper, signed and dated lower right 'Brian Rice 1967' and titled lower left 'Radials Series', 47 x 41 cm (ARR) Provenance: with Laurie Stewart Fine Art, London (according to the label attached to the reverse of the frame); private collection Note: this is one of a series of works the artist made under this title in the late 1960s, reflecting the cool geometry of the period seen in the work of his peer Bridget Riley alongside the Pop colouring of his friend Derek Boshier. Works by the artist are now in the collections of the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Exeter and the Tate.
