Christian Bérard, French 1902-1949 - Woman in crescent moon; ink on paper, signed lower left 'Bérard', 16.7 x 22.7 cm Note: Bérard was an artist, fashion illustrator and designer, working for the likes of Coco Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli and Nina Ricci. He also designed for Jean Cocteau's film 'La Belle et la Bete' (1946). After a sudden heart attack in 1949, Cocteau dedicated his film 'Orphee' to him the following year.
