Cornelis de Heem (Flemish, 1631-1695) A still life of fruit and flowers suspended from a blue ribbon hanging from a nail signed 'C. DE. HEEM. f' l.r., oil on canvas 64 x 51cm Provenance: Anon sale, Christie's, London, 19 June 1942, lot 22; the family of the late Derek R Strauss. Condition Report: Framed: 85.5 x 73.5cm Relined.Craquelure. Rubbing with small losses and abrasions to edges. Infilling and scattered spots of overpainting apparent. A semi-gloss varnish has been applied which makes reading under UV light difficult and may obscure further restoration. There is a triangular area, centre right, which appears darker in colour under both UV and normal lighting conditions. Please see additional condition images.
