Signed lower left: Jos: Nigg The well-known flower painter Nigg exhibited his works in the annual exhibitions of the Imperial Academy from 1814 onwards. They were sent as gifts to foreign monarchs. Nigg's naturalistically depicted flowers on ornate objects from the Viennese porcelain manufactory enjoyed great popularity and appreciation. A floral still life on a Viennese porcelain plate signed by Nigg will be offered at the Lempertz auction in Berlin on 21 June 2025.
