Lot description
circa 1934 | technique: oil on canvas | 46 x 55 cm | signature: bottom right | framed | provenance: private collection in Avignon Note Expert opinion: PhDr. Rea Michalová. On the back author's name: Amandier Rose (Pink Almond Tree) Lot information The painting "Pink Almonds in Simiane" is a typical example of Othon Coubin's mature period, when his work was fully established in the French environment. A scene with flowering trees under a clear Provençal sky radiates peace, light and harmony Coubine works masterfully here with pastel colors, subtle light modeling and a balanced composition. The floral shards of almonds are painted with a delicacy that is almost lyrical, while the landscape background remains stylized but faithful to the atmosphere of the southern French countryside. The work demonstrates the author's exceptional ability to combine Czech sensuality with the French tradition of landscape painting Bidders are requested to inquire about the condition of the lot prior to the auction. Any complaints will be disregarded.
