Marko Mavrovich (Born 1960) American, Harbor Scene Oil on Canvas. Beautiful Mediterranean view of a villa and boats near and far as the eye can see. Signed bottom left. Signed again on the back and dated 2010 in pen. Title written on back in pen: "Adriatic Shores." Label from Epic Norwegian attached to back with information about the piece. Overall Size: 31 1/4 x 41 1/4 in. Sight Size: 19 1/2 x 29 1/4 in. #6544 . Marko Mavrovich was born in 1960 to Croatian parents living in California. A self-taught artist, he began drawing, painting and selling his work in his teens to help his family make ends meet, and traveled to the Mediterranean in his twenties to learn about his heritage. The views of the Adriatic Sea captivated him and became his primary inspiration, and after returning to the United States he eventually began exhibiting his work in street shows and festivals where he was discovered by established galleries like Park West. His beautiful coastlines, seascapes, and landscapes are now in public, private, and corporate collections all over the world, and he continues to travel extensively across the globe in an effort to capture as many unique views of the water and seaside locations as he can.
